- Not only can it be fun and easy to learn Spanish, it’s important for the future.
- Spanish is growing quickly, it’s being spoken by more and more people, and it’s becoming very important on your resume.
- Most of us have little time and don’t want boring courses. We want to be able to talk fluently fast, with interesting material.
- Luckily, you don’t have to stay behind. Are you open for an opportunity?
There are a lot of methods to learn a new language. You probably already found out what doens’t work: the old methods of going through material which doesn’t interest you one bit, at a grueling slow pace. A lot of people will tell you it’s better to learn a language slowly, one step at a time. However, like so many of us found out, this theory doesn’t produce great results. How many have had Spanish in high school and actually can speak it? A very small percentage.

You might even find yourself in that category. But before you start blaming yourself or think that you are not good at languages, let’s evaluate the “old” methods. The material is often outright BORING, the teachers aren’t providing good examples, and the tempo was slow. This made that many people weren’t really paying much attention during the classes, and made learning Spanish annoying chore.
With the right material that interests you, and the right examples your interest level will automatically go up. Further more it doesn’t make sense to limit yourself to a slow pace. You’ll find that at a faster pace you’ll actually remember more and advance quicker. This is the way our brain works, it builds further on your previous knowledge. If you don’t challenge yourself, you’ll forget the material by the next time. Trying to learn Spanish slowly will just get you stuck. Thousands of people have been able to learn a new language in a very fast time. A lot of these people were less intelligent and less talented than you. They were just using the right material and the right principles.
Did you know that more than 90% of all written and spoken words in Spanish are from a list which is less than 100 words long? This is not only true for Spanish, it holds up for almost any language. The basic vocabulary which we use day in, day out is quite limited. When you learn Spanish, it would be stupid not to make use of this. It is practically impossible to learn a whole Spanish dictionary like some students are sometimes forced to do.
You should focus on the most important elements that make you advance as quickly as possible. Naturally you will pick up more and more things, sometimes without even thinking about it.
Learning a language should be practical, it’s about communication and a lot of times people make it too abstract and difficult. There is no magic trick however, you’ll have to make an effort, but if you do that you can advance very quickly with the right materials. And you can learn how to say virtually anything you want in the most common situations.
